For anyone who knows the lyrics, the “dedication” may have included a healthy dose of sarcasm.

“Today I am your champion/I may have won your hearts/But I know the game, you’ll forget my name/ And I won’t be here in another year,” the song goes.

Trump apparently took it as a compliment, tweeting, “Thank you @BillyJoel- many friends just told me you gave a very kind shoutout at MSG. Appreciate it- love your music!”

When asked to comment on the dedication’s meaning, Billy tells ABC Radio, “I’m in the entertainment business. Donald Trump’s campaign has been very entertaining. Aside from that, who cares about the political opinions of a piano player?”
