Steve Jennings/WireImageRed Hot Chili Peppers are apparently teaming up with Olivia Wilde for the band’s “Dark Necessities” video. According to drummer Chad Smith, the Vinyl actress will direct the visual for the Chili Peppers’ latest single.
On his Twitter, Smith posted himself holding a clapperboard listing the production as “Dark Necessities” and Wilde as the director. As a caption, the drummer wrote, “aaaannnd cut!!”
Wilde previously directed the video for the song “No Love Like Yours” by the folk-rock collective Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. She’s also appeared in videos for Thirty Seconds to Mars, Daft Punk and Dashboard Confessional.
“Dark Necessities” appears on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ forthcoming album The Getaway, which will be released June 17.
