© Apple Corps Ltd.The soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil troupe’s Las Vegas show The Beatles LOVE will be made available to streaming services around the world starting Friday, June 17, at 12:01 a.m. U.K. time. The 2006 album features remixed versions and mash-ups of Beatles songs that were created at London’s Abbey Road Studios by longtime Fab Four producer George Martin and his son, Giles, for use in the multimedia production.
The Beatles LOVE soundtrack peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 and has sold more than 2 million copies in the U.S. Among the interesting “soundscapes” and medleys that appear on the record are tracks combining “Eleanor Rigby” and “Julia”; “Blackbird” and “Yesterday”; and “Come Together,” “Dear Prudence” and “Cry Baby Cry.” The streaming version of the album includes two bonus tracks, “Girl” and “Fool on the Hill.”
Since The Beatles LOVE opened at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on June 30, 2006, more 4,500 performances have been staged. Cirque du Soleil will give a special 10th anniversary performance of the production on July 14. This year, the show was revamped with new acts, costumes, choreography and video elements, as well as remixed music. Tickets are available at CirqueduSoleil.com.
