The clip also features Flea playing bass while sitting in a sink and wearing dish gloves. You can watch it all unfold now on the Peppers’ Facebook page.

“Dark Necessities” is the lead single from the band’s forthcoming album, The Getaway, which will be released Friday, June 17.

In other Chili Peppers news, Kiedis had to perform a feat of heroism recently. In an interview with the U.K.’s Radio X, the singer explains that while the band was outside filming their “Carpool Karaoke” segment with The Late Late Show‘s James Corden, a woman ran out of her house yelling that her baby couldn’t breathe.

“We all ran across the street. The lady thrust the baby into my arms. The baby was not breathing,” Kiedis explains.

“I thought, ‘I’m going to try and do a little baby CPR real quick to see if I can get some air into this kid,'” he continues. “I tried to open the mouth. [It was] locked shut. So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles started coming out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place. The ambulance showed up and I handed the baby over who was breathing and fine.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will bring their heroics to Chicago next month when they headline Lollapalooza.
