Now, an updated, expanded version of a 2005 documentary focusing on Harrison’s pre-Beatlemania U.S. excursion will be released as a two-DVD set on September 16.
George Harrison — A Beatle in Benton, Illinois tells the story of the late guitarist’s eventful trip, on which he was accompanied by his younger brother, Peter. During his visit, George performed at a VFW Hall with a local band called The Four Vests, went record shopping, bought a Rickenbacker guitar and became the first Beatles member to be interviewed by a U.S. radio station.
