A rep for the singer tells People in an exclusive statement, “Over the last six years, Ozzy Osbourne has been dealing with a sex addiction,” while also reporting that he “has gone into intense therapy.”

The statement also confirms that Ozzy had had a years-long affair with his longtime hair colorist, Michelle Pugh.

Pugh, meanwhile, has told her side of the story in a new interview with People that will be published later this week. She says she doesn’t believe Ozzy is a sex addict, noting that she worked with him for a year before things turned physical. Pugh maintains that her relationship with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer “felt like an old-fashioned romance,” and that he courted her. She adds, “When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it.”

In addition, Pugh says Ozzy didn’t act like a rock star with her, describing him as a “really nice, sweet, funny and cool guy.” She also claims that the singer “asked me not to see anyone else. We had a very real relationship.”

Osbourne’s statement to People addresses Pugh’s claims, saying, “He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context.” The note also extends an apology to other women with whom Ozzy apparently had sex, adding, “Out of the bad comes good.”

The statement concludes by noting, “Ozzy is mortified at what his behavior has done to his family. He thanks God that his incredible wife Sharon is at his side to support him.”
