Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagicEx-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin released a new solo single this week via iTunes, a collaboration with former GN’R drummer Matt Sorum titled “F.P.  Money.” In a series of recent posts on Twitter, Stradlin explained that the song’s title is short for “Fighter Pilot Money,” and maintained that the tune itself was inspired by the 2015 HBO series The Brink, which was co-produced by Jack Black and Tim Robbins.

Izzy also took to Twitter to share the song’s lyrics, which have many people wondering whether the guitarist might be taking a swipe at his former Guns band mates and their current partial reunion tour — something he declined to take part in.

The words to “F.P. Money” include the lines, “They can fight about it, money, some bag of gold/ They can fight about it, money, the big wheels roll/ And I’m taking the long way home today/ Really got no worries either way/ Cuttin’ deals, shakin’ hands/ Hopin’ it feels, open plans.”

In addition to Stradlin and Sorum, the song features Izzy’s longtime lead guitarist Rick Richards, current Cult keyboardist Damon Fox and journeyman bassist Tony Babylon.

You can check out a clip of “F.P. Money” now on Stradlin’s Twitter feed.
