Iggy Pop has shared the video for his cover of French singer Edith Piaf‘s “La Vie en Rose.” In the surreal, animated visual, which is streaming now at RollingStone.com, the Godfather of Punk dances with an anthropomorphic rose on a bridge in Paris.
“The worlds of Iggy Pop and Edith Piaf are the opposite,” the video’s director Laurent Mercier tells Rolling Stone. “We used the metaphor of the bridge in Paris called Pont des Arts to visually gather those two legends.”
Pop’s cover of “La Vie en Rose” appears on his 2012 album, Après. The musician’s latest effort is this year’s Post Pop Depression, which Pop recorded in collaboration with Queens of the Stone Age‘s Josh Homme.
