Gary Miller/Getty ImagesTom Petty‘s daughter, Los Angeles artist Annakim Violette, apparently took to Instagram Monday, slamming press reports that her father has died.

Monday evening on the Instagram account dadlivesmatteronelove that appears to belong to Violette, she took particular aim at Rolling Stone, posting a picture of her father on the cover of the magazine in the late ’70s and writing, “@rollingstone my dad is not dead yet but your f******* magazine is….”

She slammed the magazine as “tabloid dog s***,” writing, “How dare you report that my father has died just to get press because your articles and photos are so dated,” among other scatological insults. “This is my father not a celebrity. An artist and human being.”

In an earlier post she seemed to elude on her father’s reported health crisis, writing, “Send love Im asking for privacy and respect from strangers during this time I love you and send love to you and your family this is a beautiful and private time I love u dad.

In another post she is seen wearing a Nudie-suit style embroidered jacket with card suits and skull-and-crossbones logos on it, writing, “My dad had matching stage clothes made for me as a kid this jacket still fits me made by glen Palmer from granny takes a trip when I got the call to come to the hospital I grabbed this jacket and I’m still wearing it.”

She also wrote, “96 tears was the first song my dad taught me to play thank you for all the love this has been the longest day of my life.”
