The Who will warm up for its two appearances at the star-studded Desert Trip festival this October by playing its very first concert in Santa Barbara, California. The British rock legends will perform at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Thursday, October 6.
Tickets for the show will go on sale this Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m. PT and can be purchased at TheWho.com, AXS.com, and at the Santa Barbara Bowl box office. Ex-Jeff Beck touring bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, who supported The Who during most of the band’s recent North American tour leg, also will open this concert.
As previously reported, Desert Trip takes place October 7-9 and October 14-16 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. The Who will perform with Roger Waters on October 9 and 16, while The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan will play on October 7 and 14, and Paul McCartney and Neil Young will hit the stage on October 8 and 15.
Meanwhile, The Who also recently lined up an October 12 performance at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. First up for the band will be a late summer tour of Europe mapped out from an August 29 show in Glasgow, U.K., through a September 19 gig in Milan, Italy.
