Courtesy of Career Artist ManagementThe Romantics, Night Ranger and Loverboy are among the popular ’80s rock bands that will serve as special guests during Rick Springfield‘s upcoming summer tour. One or more of the groups will open for Springfield on select dates spanning from a June 18 show in Andover, Kansas, through an August 28 concert in Atlanta.
38 Special, The Fixx and Tommy Tutone also are scheduled to be support acts for the “Jessie’s Girl” singer and his band during the trek. In addition, Springfield has a variety of full band shows lined up without any opening bands, as well as a pair of “Stripped Down” acoustic concerts scheduled for late July.
Special VIP packages are being sold that will offer the chance to be Springfield’s honorary guitar tech for a day, as well as a guitar signed by Rick. Proceeds raised by the packages will go toward the estate of Springfield’s guitar tech, Ruben Velasco, who died of cancer this past week. Visit IfOnly.com for more information.
