Ted Nugent shared his thoughts on everything from Caitlin Jenner to the current political climate with the Michigan website MLive.com this week. The outspoken rocker says he now splits his time between his native Michigan and Texas.
Explaining his move to the South, Nugent says, “Texas is not perfect but it’s so much better than Michigan… I don’t need a government official to authorize me to have a gun in my truck. That’s just one of a huge list of abuses that Michigan citizens have to put up with — and I won’t put up with it.” Nugent still loves spending the fall months in Michigan, though. “October and November is a sacred tradition,” he declares. “The family gets together and we hunt non-stop.”
On the subject of the 2016 presidential race, Nugent says, “I support [Donald] Trump and [Ted] Cruz, and I will support whomever the GOP nominee is. I can’t support a communist or a felon, which would be Bernie [Sanders] and Hillary [Clinton].” As you may recall, the Gonzo Guitarist was investigated by the Secret Service four years ago after saying that he would be “dead or in jail by this time next year” if Obama was re-elected.
Finally, Nugent also weighed in on current LGBT issues. “Do I believe everybody should have equal rights? Of course I do. That includes gays, lesbians, transgenders and everybody else.” That said, he adds, “I pray for the Bruce Jenners of the world. It must be a difficult and challenging decision in life to have X plumbing and claim Y gender.”
Bruce Jenner of course recently transitioned to a woman and now goes by Caitlin.
