The godfather of punk himself, Iggy Pop, will be the subject of the Grey advertising agency’s 10th Annual Legends of Music Seminar this Wednesday, June 22, as part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France. The interview event will be held at the Lumiere Theatre at the Palais des Festivals at 3 p.m. local time.
During the seminar, the influential singer will discuss his artistic journey with Nils Leonard, chairman and chief creative officer of Grey London. In conjunction with his appearance, Pop recorded a recitation of Dylan Thomas‘ famous poem “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night” and an accompanying video has been created by Leonard that includes a montage of artistically modified performance footage of Iggy.
Leonard describes the video as “a salute to the most alive man I know,” and it was made in tribute to the 69-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s continued vibrancy in a year that has seen the passing of so many music legends. Check out the clip at Medium.com and at Grey London’s Vimeo channel.
Iggy currently is touring Europe in support of his latest album, Post Pop Depression. You can check out all of his upcoming dates at IggyPop.com.
