ABC/Randy HolmesDuring a recent appearance on the BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, Elton John hinted that his touring days may soon be nearing an end.
Speaking with the Irish talk show host, Elton admitted that after almost half a century on the road, it may soon be time to hang up his platform boots. These days, the Rocket Man is mostly the Family Man, as he longs to spend more time with his husband of 11 years, David Furnish, and their two young sons, Zachary, 5 and Elijah. 3.
“If you’re feeling fresh and energetic do it while you can. I’m not going to do it forever because I want to see my boys grow up,” Elton said, according to The Daily Mail.
But Elton said he wouldn’t characterize his current performances as a “farewell tour.” “I like playing and I’m a working musician and I love to do it,” he said.
John was on the show promoting his upcoming collaboration with Welsh musician Bright Light Bright Light who Elton is set to tour with after his upcoming Vegas residency.
