A new installment of Bruce Springsteen‘s series of archival recordings capturing a pair of intimate acoustic shows the Boss played in Los Angeles in November 1990, is now available for purchase at Live.BruceSpringsteen.net. The new release documents a November 16-17 stand at The Shrine Auditorium benefiting the Christic Institute.
Both shows feature guest appearances by Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt, who joined Springsteen for renditions of Bob Dylan‘s “Highway 61 Revisited” and a song called “Across the Borderline” that was co-written by Ry Cooder, John Hiatt and Jim Dickinson. Other tunes that Bruce performed at the concerts include “Brilliant Disguise,” “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” “Atlantic City,” “Thunder Road” and “My Hometown.”
Both shows are available for purchase now as a single digital download in various resolutions, including MP3 and 24-bit high-resolution versions. A three-CD set also is available. Live.BruceSpringsteen.net is hosted by the popular live music delivery platform nugs.net.
Springsteen and the E Street Band currently are on tour in Europe through a July 31 show in Zurich, Switzerland. The group will kick off a new series of U.S. dates on August 23 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
