Billy Joel joined his pal, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, on Monday for a breast cancer awareness motorcycle ride, Newsday reports.
The singer and the politician teamed up in Joel’s hometown area of Long Island, New York, beginning the ride at Sunken Meadow State Park. Billy participated in the first leg of the event, which ended at Citi Field in Queens. The full ride continues through New York City and concludes upstate in New Paltz.
It’s all part of Cuomo’s new “Get Screened, No Excuses” campaign, which aims to eliminate the obstacles women face that can prevent them from getting cancer screenings. The governor’s domestic partner, Sandra Lee, is a breast cancer survivor.
