Credit: Paul BrownLast week, Motley Crue released a new song called “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” one of four tracks they recorded for the band’s upcoming Netflix biopic, The Dirt. It was the first new song from the ’80s metallers since they played what was billed as their final show on New Year’s Eve 2015.
But now, in a new interview with U.K.’s Classic Rock magazine, bassist Nikki Sixx addresses about the possibility of a full, permanent Crue reunion.
“We haven’t even had that talk,” Sixx says. “We’ve just been wrapped up in the movie.”
“Yeah, I miss the guys, and I miss playing with them, and playing that music, but everyone’s fairly busy with their own thing,” he adds. “That’s a whole conversation that we haven’t even had at that point. And I don’t know if we ever will.”
Before their final gig, the members of Motley Crue signed a contract promising never to tour together again. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Sixx declared that “there will be no one-off[shows] in our future.”
In addition to “The Dirt,” Motley Crue recorded two other new songs called “Ride with the Devil” and “Crash and Burn,” plus a cover of Madonna‘s “Live a Virgin,” for the film’s soundtrack. Both the movie and the soundtrack will be out March 22.
