®Pink Floyd ArchiveThe first major international exhibit focusing on Pink Floyd will open at Victoria and Albert Museum in London this spring. “The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains” is fully sanctioned by the band’s surviving members, and will take an in-depth look at the pioneering group, exploring its innovative music and album designs, its groundbreaking concert staging and much more.

The exhibit will use multimedia elements and hundreds of artifacts to trace Pink Floyd’s story, from its mid-1960s beginnings in London’s psychedelic music scene, through its massive success during the 1970s to the present day.

Among the memorabilia items that will be displayed are various stage props, original album art, vintage posters, musical instruments, recording equipment and historic promotional ads. The display is being designed by the Stufish company, the longtime stage designer for tours by Pink Floyd and Roger Waters.

The exhibit will mark the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s debut single, “Arnold Layne,” which was released in March 1967.

“The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains” will open on May 13, 2017, and is scheduled to run until October 1 of next year.

Martin Roth, director of the Victorian and Albert Museum, says, “Alongside creating extraordinary music, [Pink Floyd has] for over five decades been pioneers in uniting sound and vision, from their earliest 1960s performances with experimental light shows, through their spectacular stadium rock shows, to their consistently iconic album covers. The exhibition will locate them within the history of performance, design and musical production by presenting and complementing the material from Pink Floyd’s own archive with the V&A’s unrivaled collections.”

Tickets for the exhibit are on sale now at the museum’s website. For more information, visit PinkFloydExhibition.com.
