Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesJenn DeLeo, wife of Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo, has filed for divorce, TMZ reports. According to docs obtained by the gossip site, Jenn alleges Dean physically and verbally assaulted her.
TMZ reports that Jenn filed for divorce a couple of weeks ago after Dean allegedly threatened her with violence after telling her he was cheating on her — in front of their six-year-old daughter.
In 2012, Jenn claims, a “completely inebriated” Dean carried their then-newborn daughter into the ocean and nearly let her drown.
Jenn also accuses Dean of being repeatedly physically abusive, saying that he attempted to strangle her multiple times. Months after the 2012 incident with their daughter, Jenn alleges she found Dean passed out in the garage with the door closed and the car running. When he woke up, Dean allegedly physically assaulted her. On a separate occasion, Jenn says Dean threatened to kill himself if she left him.
Around Thanksgiving 2017, Jenn claims, Dean assaulted her again after she confronted him about his infidelity.
On June 23, Jenn tweeted, “I want to give a shout out to anyone who’s in a domestic violence situation! It’s not your fault for staying so long. Please find the strength to leave. Once you do it’s beautiful. Sending love #domesticabuse #metoo.”
She then replied to her own tweet by writing, “I was in one with #DeanDeLeo for the past 8 years!!!”
