Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared a new song called “We Turn Red,” which will appear on their forthcoming album, The Getaway. Throughout the funky cut, frontman Anthony Kiedis name-checks different locations in the U.S., from Delaware to New Orleans to Chicago. Strangely, though, the song contains no mention of California, the band’s home state. “We Turn Red” is streaming now on YouTube.
“We Turn Red” is the third track to be released from The Getaway, following lead single “Dark Necessities” and the title track. The album will be released June 17.
While Kiedis sings about different U.S. cities and states, the Chili Peppers don’t have any American tour dates scheduled so far, save for their headlining performance at Lollapalooza next month. More tour plans will be announced shortly.
