He’s been known as the Prince of Darkness and the Godfather of Heavy Metal, and now, Ozzy Osbourne is set to become a Golden God.
The Black Sabbath frontman will be honored with the eponymous award at the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods. He’ll receive the prize during a ceremony hosted by the British magazine in London on June 11.
Previous Golden God recipients include Lemmy, Rob Zombie and Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine. Black Sabbath also earned the Golden God distinction at last year’s ceremony.
“What an immense honor it is to be getting a second Golden God Award after Sabbath picked one up last year,” Ozzy says. “The fans who have supported me and this music mean everything to me, which is why getting this award is so special.”
Ozzy is currently in the middle of his final world tour, which will return to the U.S. in August.
