“Déjà Vu” begins with Waters singing intimately over strummed acoustic guitar and sparse piano, “If I had been God, I would have rearranged the veins in the face to make them more resistant to alcohol and less prone to aging/If I had been God, I would have sired many sons and I would not have suffered the Romans to kill even one of them.”

The song then builds in volume and intensity, as Waters sings, “If I was a drone, patrolling from the skies/With my electric eyes for guidance, and the element of surprise/I would be afraid to find someone home/Maybe a woman at a stove, baking bread, making rice, or just boiling down some bones.” The verse also features ominous explosion effects.

Is This the Life We Really Want? will be released June 2, with Waters supporting the album with a major North American trek called the Us + Them Tour, kicking off may 26 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Meanwhile, Waters has launched a contest offering fans the chance to attend a special rehearsal show on May 21 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Entries will be accepted until the end of the day Friday, May 12. Visit RogerWaters.com for more details.

Waters will perform tonight on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
