Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesA crowd-funding campaign has been launched to help raise money to produce an authorized documentary about the life and long career of founding Buffalo Springfield and Poco singer/guitarist Richie Furay. The film, Through It All: The Life and Influence of Richie Furay, will examine Furay’s impact as a country-rock pioneer, as well as look at his creative process as he continues to make new music.

Through It All tells Richie’s story via new interviews, rare photos and video clips, archival recordings and recent footage.
Furay co-founded Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills and Neil Young, and after that group broke up he formed Poco with Jim Messina. While Young, Stills and Messina went on to become major music stars, Furay enjoyed only moderate success. The film will take a look at Richie’s struggle to attain rock stardom and how it adversely affected his marriage before he decided to focus more on his family and his spiritual life.
This year, Richie and his wife celebrated their 51st anniversary, and he also recently retired after serving for 35 years as pastor of a Colorado church. Meanwhile, Furay continues to play and record with his own band, and also occasionally takes part in Buffalo Springfield and Poco reunions and tribute concerts.
