Credit: David M. EarnisseChicago has signed on to perform at the 24th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala, a star-studded benefit held to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis. The event will take place May 5 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
“Chicago is one of my favorite bands of all time and has endless hits that remind me so much of all the special moments in my life,” says Race to Erase MS founder Nancy Davis. “I am so excited that they can join us at this year’s Race to Erase MS Gala to support the cause.”
Besides Chicago’s performance, the fundraiser also will feature the presentation of the organization’s 2017 Medal of Hope Award to Sopranos actress Jamie Lynn-Sigler, who has MS. The event also will include dinner and a silent auction.
Over the years, the Annual Race to Erase MS Gala has raised more than $46 million for the organization and its Center Without Walls program. It also provides financial support to the medical community to help advance understanding of the disease and aid in its treatment.

Chicago has a variety of upcoming headlining shows lined up through May. The band then will mount a joint summer trek with The Doobie Brothers that kicks off June 7 in Concord, California. In addition, founding Chicago members Robert Lamm, James Pankow and Peter Cetera will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a June 15 ceremony in New York City.
