This year’s show will include sets by The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, Michael McDonald and Haynes’ group Gov’t Mule.

The event also will feature a collaborative set by bluegrass star Alison Krauss and country singer Jamey Johnson, as well as a special performance by The Last Waltz Band — made up of Haynes, McDonald, Johnson, producer/bassist Don Was and other musicians — which will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Band‘s historic all-star farewell show. In addition, the 2016 Christmas Jam will feature guest appearances by Branford Marsalis, The MetersGeorge Porter Jr., RatDog‘s Steve Kimock and ex-Black Crowes guitarist Audley Freed, among others.

The concert, which is expected to run for more than seven hours, will raise money for the event’s longtime beneficiary, the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity charity. Tickets go on sale to the general public on November 1, while pre-sale tickets and VIP packages are available starting today.

In conjunction with the main Christmas Jam show, a number of related events will be held in Asheville. “Xmas Jam by Day” concerts will take place on December 12 at the Asheville Music Hall and that venue’s affiliated club, The One Stop, while an art and photography show will be hosted by the Satellite Gallery.
