The 21-track album, which will be released on February 1, 2019, was put together by and will raise funds for the nonprofit organization and its mission of promoting traditional Southern music by supporting musicians from the region in financial need.

Clapton has contributed a previously unreleased acoustic instrumental cover of the 1940s Willie Brown tune “Mississippi Blues” to the project. Eric recorded the track in collaboration with guitarist Tim Duffy, co-founder of the Music Maker Relief Foundation.

You can check out Clapton and Duffy’s rendition of “Mississippi Blues” at Eric’s official website.

Other artists who lent their talents to Blue Muse include folk-blues veteran Taj Mahal and Dom Flemons of the Grammy-winning folk outfit The Carolina Chocolate Drops. In addition to blues tunes, the album also features folk, soul, Appalachian and gospel music.

Last month, Clapton released his first-ever holiday album, Happy Xmas, which features reworked versions of classic yuletide songs and an original tune called “For Love on Christmas Day.” The album is available as a CD, a vinyl LP and a deluxe box set.
