That’s why he’s headlining a benefit concert in November to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, which devastated Houston and other parts of the Lone Star State.
The event, called Helping Texans: A Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert, will take place November 28 at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. All ticket proceeds will go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at the North Texas Community Foundation.
The bill also includes two other Texas singer/songwriters: country star Clint Black and Lyle Lovett. All the event’s expenses are being underwritten, and the artists are donating there time, so all the money can go directly to charity. In a statement, Don says, “This is another example of Texans helping Texans, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
It’s estimated that Hurricane Harvey caused $180 billion in damage, more than any other natural disaster in U.S. history except Hurricane Katrina.
Before that benefit, Don has several concerts scheduled with the Eagles. On September 30, they’ll perform at the Classic Northwest, a festival in Seattle, with the Doobie Brothers. They also have shows booked in Greensboro, NC; Atlanta; Louisville, KY; and Detroit. Country star Vince Gill and Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey‘s son Duncan are filling the hole left in the band by Frey, who died last year.
