Ash Newell; Myriam SantosStyx will kick off its 2017 itinerary by joining forces with former Eagles guitarist Don Felder for a five-date residency this January at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The engagement, dubbed “Styx & Don Felder: Renegades in the Fast Lane,” will take place on January 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14.

Tickets for the residency will go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 26, at 10 a.m. PT at Venetian.com/StyxFelder. Presale tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, August 24, at 10 a.m. PT. Styx and Felder previously performed together during the 2014 Soundtrack of Summer Tour, which also featured Foreigner.

“I have been an admirer of Don Felder’s unique gifts as a guitar player for decades,” says founding Styx member James “JY” Young. “Finally meeting him and having him on the same bill as us in 2014 was great fun. He’s like a long lost brother to me.”

Felder adds, “I’m so excited to be sharing the stage at The Venetian with my good friends Styx. This is going to be one ‘rocking’ ‘rocking’ city in the U.S.”

You can check out a trailer for the residency at Styx’s official YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Styx will release a video companion to its 2015 concert album Live at the Orleans Arena Las Vegas on DVD, Blu-ray and as a digital download on September 2. The performance, which took place in July 2014 during the Soundtrack of Summer tour, features a guest appearance by Felder.
