ABC/Randy HolmesSlash is known for playing a Gibson Les Paul, but the Guns N’ Roses guitarist has teamed up with Epiphone to make a signature Firebird guitar.

“The Firebird design has always been attractive to me,” Slash says. “From a sonic point of view, they’re set up to be very different than the kind of thing than what I do with a Les Paul…I finally got a chance to work with Epiphone to do [a Firebird] that was more to my specs.”

The Limited Edition Slash Firebird will be limited to a total of 1,000 guitars worldwide, 100 of which will be signed by the top-hatted shredder. Visit Epiphone.com for more info.

In other news, Slash appears on the latest episode of comedian and actor Marc Maron‘s popular WTF podcast. The two talk about Slash’s early life, Guns N’ Roses, and his struggle to quit smoking.

Slash will release his new album, Living the Dream, with his band Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators this Friday.
