“We have some [songs] in the bag,” the 70-year-old rocker said. “And I think now that we’re getting together again, we’ll see what direction things are gonna take.”

Wood also reported that The Stones will begin preparing for their fall European trek, the No Filter Tour, next week.

“We always love that,” he says of rehearsals. “It’s like a family reunion. It’s really is good. It’s like a meal that goes on for like a month, and we go out on the road and spread that food everywhere.” The tour kicks off September 9 in Hamburg, Germany, and is scheduled through an October 25 show in Paris.

Wood also chatted a bit about an upcoming book focusing on his artwork that’s appropriately titled Ronnie Wood: Artist, which will be published in the U.S. on October 17.

Ronnie began painting when he was 12, and has become a prolific artist known for his portraits of his band mates and other famous musicians.

He told the BBC interviewer about his continued passion for painting, “It’s always a challenge, a bit like the music. You’re always improving and you’re always experimenting. Every blank canvas is like a challenge.”

The book includes an afterword penned by his Rolling Stones band mate Keith Richards. For more details about Ronnie Wood: Artist, visit ThamesandHudsonUSA.com.
