Stand Up for Heroes is, for the most part, a comedy show: This year’s event will feature performances from John Oliver, Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien, Trevor Noah, Hasan Minhaj and John Mulaney. The Chili Peppers are no strangers to comedy, though — remember Chad Smith‘s drum battle with Will Ferrell?

“The Red Hot Chili Peppers bring so much energy to the stage and are one of my favorite bands,” says Bob Woodruff, ABC News correspondent and co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is co-presenting the event. “We’re humbled that they’re joining us at Stand Up for Heroes to honor those who’ve served.”
