PRNewsfoto/PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICALBryan Adams appeared on NBC’s Today show on Thursday to announce plans for the release of the original Broadway cast recording of Pretty Woman: The Musical, the new production for which he wrote the music.

The digital version of the soundtrack arrives September 21, but if you pre-order it, you’ll get an instant download of the song “I Can’t Go Back,” which Adams performed on Today along with the show’s cast, including star Samantha Barks

The song is also available for streaming at all digital service providers.  Physical CD versions of the album will hit stores on October 16.

Bryan co-wrote the songs for the musical with his longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance. The late Garry Marshall, who directed the movie Pretty Woman, had written the show’s book. The production will open Thursday, August 16, at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre.

In its review of the musical, which had its premiere in Chicago in March, Time Out fittingly wrote, “Missing it would be a big mistake. Big. HUGE!”
