Legacy RecordingsDavid Bowie may be gone, but his legacy will live on, thanks to his music. And now, a new Bowie compilation titled Legacy, gathering the influential singer’s best-loved singles, will be released on November 11 as a single CD and a two-CD set.
The single-CD anthology features 20 tracks, spanning from Bowie’s first hit single, “A Space Oddity,” through 2016’s “Lazarus,” from his final studio album, Blackstar. The two-CD edition of Legacy delves deeper into David’s catalog, with a total of 40 songs.
Both versions of Legacy feature a previously unreleased mix of Bowie’s 1971 single “Life on Mars?” that was created this year by the tune’s original producer, Ken Scott. Other well-known songs on the compilations include “Let’s Dance,” “Changes,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Rebel Rebel,” “Young Americans,” “Modern Love,” “Fame,” “Heroes,” and Bowie’s classic collaboration with Queen, “Under Pressure.”
In addition, a two-LP vinyl edition of Legacy, featuring most of the same 20 tracks that appear on the single-CD version, will be released January 7, 2017.
