The homage includes the lyrics of Neil’s 1992 tune “Such a Woman,” a love song he wrote about Pegi, along with a message that reads: “Thanks Pegi, for being such a wonderful mother to our children. You live on inside of them and the many you have touched.”
The lyrics of “Such a Woman” start with the verse, “You are such a woman to me/ And I love you/ Our love will live/ Until the end of all time.”
Pegi Young died January 1 at age 66 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She and Neil were married from 1978 to 2014, and had two children together, a son named Ben and daughter named Amber.
Inspired by the needs of Ben, who was born with cerebral palsy, Pegi co-founded the Bridge School in 1986. The educational facility focuses on children with severe physical and speech impairments. She also helped organize the star-studded Bridge School benefit concert series that was held from 1986 to 2016.
Pegi also sang backing vocals on several of Neil’s albums and tours, and released five solo albums between 2007 and 2017.
After his divorce from Pegi, Neil married actress and activist Daryl Hannah in 2018.
