ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica‘s All Within My Hands charity foundation has launched the Metallica Scholars program, a new initiative to support workforce education.

Through the program, All Within My Hands is donating $100,000 each to 10 community colleges across the United States, and will support over 1,000 students in their pursuit of a traditional trade or other applied learning program.

“All of us in the band feel fortunate that music has provided us the opportunity to be successful doing something we are passionate about,” says drummer Lars Ulrich. “We want to share our success with others so that they can find a job where they can do the same.”

Metallica previously helped raise money for workforce education during their acoustic charity show last month. The concert will be released as a live album on February 1, 2019.
