InsideOut MusicLast month, longtime Yes guitarist Steve Howe‘s youngest son, Virgil, died at the age of 41, leading the prog-rock legends’ to cancel the last six dates of its Yestival summer tour. Prior to his untimely passing, Virgil and his dad had completed a collaborative instrumental album called Nexus that will be released on November 17, and you can listen to the record’s title track now on the InsideOut Music label’s official YouTube channel.

Steve notes that at the time of his son’s death, he and Virgil “had only recently completed recording Nexus, which contains eleven of his tunes to which I added a guitar to suit each one.”

While his son’s main instrument was drums, the Yes guitarist points out that “Nexus explores a completely different side of Virgil’s ability, as a writer & keyboard player — ‘in his own right.'”

He adds, “We hope that the music just completed will stand as a fitting tribute to his life and legacy.”

The cover art for Nexus was created by Virgil’s five-year-old daughter, Zuni. The album can be pre-ordered now, and is available as a standard CD, a digital download and a CD/vinyl LP package.

Here is the album’s track list:

“Nexus”
“Hidden Planet”
“Leaving Aurura”
“Nick’s Star”
“Night Hawk”
“Moon Rising”
“Passing Titan”
“Dawn Mission”
“Astral Plane”
