Foo Fighters’ new album “Concrete and Gold” features “the biggest pop star in the world” singing backup vocals

Roswell Records/RCA RecordsThis week, Foo Fighters revealed the details of their upcoming new album, Concrete and Gold. As if that isn’t exciting enough, frontman Dave Grohl says the record features a host of special guests, including one in particular they’re keeping under wraps.

“There’s one who is probably the biggest pop star in the world and — I’m not kidding– sings backups on one of the heaviest songs on the record,” Grohl tells BBC Radio 1. “And we’re not telling anybody who it is.”

BBC Radio 1 host Annie Mac guesses Beyonce, but Grohl refuses to reveal the answer. Perhaps it’s the heavy metal-loving Lady Gaga, who collaborated with Metallica at this year’s Grammys. Or maybe it’s Adele, since she’s worked with Greg Kurstin, who produced Concrete and Gold.

We may have to wait until Concrete and Gold is released on September 15.
