Fathom Events/AXS TVSammy Hagar turns 70 on Friday, and the Red Rocker is hosting his usual star-studded series of annual concerts on and around his birthday at his Cabo Wabo Cantina club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  But this time around, in celebration of the milestone, this year’s shows are being filmed for a movie.

The film, titled Red Til I’m Dead: Sammy Hagar’s Rock-N-Roll Birthday Party,  will be shown in select theaters across the U.S. on December 5.  Among the many musicians who will be performing alongside Hagar at the concerts: Eddie Money, The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, Sammy’s ex-Van Halen band mate Michael Anthony, Alice in ChainsJerry Cantrell, Nickelback‘s Chad Kroeger and more.

In addition to the concert footage, the movie will offer a behind-the-scenes look the event, plus birthday wishes from many of Hagar’s famous friends.

“I’ve been celebrating my birthday in Cabo for almost 30 years and I couldn’t begin to pick a favorite year,” says Sammy. “I’ve had hundreds of friends who’ve come down to perform and party. Each year is packed with so many insane collaborations and moments that I’m just happy that the rest of the world can finally get in — and celebrate alongside us as it unfolds on the big screen.”

Other artists performing at Hagar’s 2017 birthday bash include Run DMC‘s Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Pantera‘s Vinnie Paul and country star Toby Keith. This year’s concert series kicked off on Monday, continued on Wednesday, and also features shows this Friday — Sammy’s actual birthday — and Saturday.

Tickets for the screenings will be available online starting Friday, October 27, at FathomEvents.com and at participating theater box offices. The film will be shown at 7:30 p.m. local time at all of the cinemas.
