NetflixNetflix on Wednesday announced it has picked up a second season of its Beatles-inspired animated show, Beat Bugs, which has yet to debut on the streaming service.

The show incorporates Beatles music into its story lines. Season one, out August 3, will include covers of Fab Four classics by Eddie Vedder, The Shins and other rock acts, plus pop stars like Pink and Sia. Season two, debuting November 18, features Chris Cornell, Of Monsters and Men, Rod Stewart and more.

Series creator Josh Wakely has nothing but praise for Cornell’s version of “Drive My Car.” “At one level it was totally a Chris Cornell track…and yet it also sounded perfect for children,” Wakely told ABC Radio Wednesday.

He was also impressed by how focused Vedder was while the Pearl Jam frontman worked on his take on “Magical Mystery Tour.” “He took such detailed notes…you would think it’s a 21-year-old guy trying to break his first record and not a rock icon,” Wakely said.
