Much like Sheena, Pete Davidson is a punk rocker now.

The Saturday Night Live cast member and The King of Staten Island star is playing Joey Ramone in an upcoming biopic about the Ramones legend. The film, titled I Slept with Joey Ramone, is based on the memoir of the same name written by Joey's brother, Mickey Leigh.

I Slept with Joey Ramone is being developed and produced by Netflix and STXfilms. Davidson is co-writing the adaptation alongside Jason Orley, who will direct the film.

"I Slept with Joey Ramone is a great rock anthem that will make an equally great rock biopic, set apart by a universal story of family," says Adam Fogelson, Chairman STXfilms Motion Picture Group. "Pete is perfect for this role and we're excited he and Jason will be bringing this icon of rock to life and thrilled to be collaborating once again with our friends at Netflix."

The film's announcement coincides with the 20th anniversary of Joey's death — he passed away April 15, 2001 at age 49.
