Frank Micelotta/Frank Micelotta ArchiveFrances Bean Cobain is reportedly clashing with her estranged husband Isaiah Silva over Kurt Cobain‘s Martin D-18E guitar, which the late Nirvana frontman famously played during the band’s MTV Unplugged performance. According to TMZ, Silva claims that Frances gave him the guitar as a wedding present, which she denies.
Talking with TMZ, Courtney Love, Cobain’s mother, calls the guitar a “treasured heirloom of the family” and not for Silva to take. Additionally, Love says she’s “really glad” her daughter is no longer in a relationship with Silva, which she describes as “very dangerous and toxic.”
Cobain filed for divorce from Silva in March. The couple wed in June 2014.
