NFTs are going grunge.
Images from Kurt Cobain's last-ever photo-shoot are being auctioned off a non-fungible token, which is essentially a unique digital collectible. The collection, dubbed The Last Session, includes never-before-seen pictures from the shoot with original markups by photographer Jesse Frohman.
"The Last Session NFT drop is an artistic exploration into the ways evolving forms of media and technology can be used to keep a legend like Cobain alive and celebrate his impact on music and on generations," Frohman says.
All 104 images in The Last Session will be sold together as a whole. Frohman is also offering individual, uniquely colored images, dubbed the Nevermind and In Utero Editions.
The auction begins May 3 at noon ET via NFT.JesseFrohman.com. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jed Foundation, an emotional health and suicide prevention organization.
Frohman's photo shoot originally took place in the summer of 1993 to promote Nirvana's then-upcoming album, In Utero. Cobain died just a few months later in April 1994.
