Courtesy of SuretoneAfter scheduling an appearance at Colorado’s Telluride Blues & Brews Festival this September, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood‘s side project The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band has lined up a full tour of the western U.S. and Canada. The trek kicks off September 16 in Aspen, Colorado, and is plotted out through an October show in the Canadian city of Victoria, British Columbia.
The group, whose lineup includes ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Rick Vito, also will visit such major cities as Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Spokane, Washington. Fleetwood’s Blues Band plays a mix of original tunes, cover tunes, and 1960s Fleetwood Mac material written by founding singer/guitarist Peter Green, including “Oh Well” and “Black Magic Woman.”
Explaining why he formed his blues outfit, Mick has said, “Over my career I’ve been called a pop star and a rock star, yet in my inner heart, I will always be part bluesman. On my journey from blues to a life of rock ‘n’ roll, I’ve always remembered where I started.”
As for Fleetwood’s main gig, Fleetwood Mac has only one concert on its 2016 schedule, a recently reported July 28 charity performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles that will raises funds for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
