You can watch the video at WheresEric.com and at Clapton’s official YouTube channel.

In a new Guitar World interview, Clapton reveals that he’s always found “Stones in My Passway” difficult to play, because it features a guitar melody that’s at odds with a coinciding vocal melody.

“There’s a [guitar] phrase [Johnson] plays underneath his vocal that I can’t do,” Eric admits. “I can’t sing it and play that phrase, and I will never do it, I don’t think. I think I’ve tried all my life to figure out how to do that — because the time signature of the singing is one way and the playing is another.”

I Still Do debuted last month at #6 on the Billboard 200. In addition to “Stones in My Passway,” the 12-track collection features a number of original Clapton compositions and renditions of Bob Dylan‘s “I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine” and the standard “I’ll Be Seeing You.” The album marks the first time Clapton has worked with acclaimed producer Glyn Johns since 1977’s multi-platinum Slowhand.
