The NFL has teamed up with online custom-apparel retailer Teespring.com on a new line of limited-edition T-shirts that combine a football team’s logo with a design created or inspired by a music artist that hails from the team’s city.
Among the artists represented on the T-shirts are ZZ Top, KISS, late Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia and Tedeschi Trucks Band. ZZ Top is paired with the Houston Texans, KISS with the New York Jets, Garcia with the San Francisco 49ers and Tedeschi Trucks Band with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The collaboration is called #MyTeamMyCity, and the shirts are on sale now until October 13 at Teespring.com for $25 apiece. Billboard reports that the artists will receive a cut of each sale, with some choosing to donate the profits to charitable causes.
“We want to give all NFL fans — including those who are musicians and entertainers — the opportunity to express their team pride creatively,” says Teespring CEO Walker Williams of the T-shirt line. “By collaborating with the NFL and top music artists we’re innovating in officially licensed apparel and helping fans engage with their teams and local communities in a new way.”
