Courtesy of MSO PRThe Who will continue its tradition of raising money for charity with special concert events by headlining an intimate private show on May 31 in Los Angeles to raise funds for UCLA Health Autism Treatment Program and Teen Cancer America.

The concert, dubbed “Who Cares About the Next Generation,” also will feature performances by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder.

In addition, the event will include a live auction hosted by celebrity auctioneer Howie Mandel, and will feature a number of special guests, including KISS singer Paul Stanley and comic actor David Spade.

In advance of the fundraiser, an online silent auction has been launched that offers a variety of VIP experiences, luxury vacation packages and autographed rock memorabilia. Among the items up for bid are guitars signed by The Who, Cream, The Eagles, Jett, Slash, Joe Walsh, Richie Sambora and Cheap Trick‘s Rick Nielsen.

The “Who Cares About the Next Generation” event takes place just after The Who winds down the current North American leg of its 50th anniversary tour. The latest series of dates kicks off tonight, April 27, in Toronto, and wraps up May 29 in Las Vegas. Check out the group’s full itinerary at TheWho.com.
