Al Pereira/WireImageFrankie Valli has Jersey Boys, Carole King has Beautiful, Gloria Estefan has On Your Feet!, and it now looks like Pat Benatar will be one of the next music stars to have a Broadway musical based on her life and career. Deadline reports that a new stage production focusing on the pop-rock singer and her husband and longtime guitarist Neil Giraldo is in the works, and may be ready for a 2017 run on Broadway.

Writer Gary Lennon, whose credits include the popular TV shows Orange Is the New Black, Justified, The Shield and Power, has signed on to pen the as-yet-untitled musical’s book. The project is being produced by Jamie Cesa, who previously worked on Pippin and Carrie Fisher‘s autobiographical play Wishful Drinking.

According to Deadline, the Benatar musical will concentrate on the triumphs and struggles of the singer’s romantic and collaborative relationship with Giraldo. Fans can expect the production to showcase many of Pat’s classic hits, which include “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Heartbreaker,” “We Belong,” Love Is a Battlefield” and “Invincible.” Benatar was the first female artist ever to have a video played on MTV and is the only singer ever to win the Best Female Rock Vocalist Grammy four years in a row.

Benatar and Giraldo have now been married for nearly 35 years and continue to record and tour together. They currently are playing a series of U.S. summer shows that’s mapped out through a September 4 performance at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska.
