Todd Rundgren must be doing more than just banging on his drum all day, because the prolific singer/songwriter has announced plans to release a new studio album called White Knight on May 12. Few official details have been revealed about the record, which is available for pre-order now at Rundgren’s official online store.
Rundgren did talk a bit about the new project last summer with ABC Radio, revealing that, unlike his recent studio releases, he was planning to have quite a few guest artists contribute.
“Living out here in Kauai, it’s hard to get people together on a whim, so even if I do collaborate it’s sort of remotely,” he said. “But…I’ve gotten to the point where there’s a lot of people that I have thought I might like to work with [and] it’s time for me to get down and do it. So, this record will include a lot of names on it.”
To promote the upcoming album, Todd has lined up a series of spring U.S. dates for a trek has dubbed White Knight: The Chivalrock Tour. According to ToddStore.com, more than a dozen shows have been confirmed, running from an April 29 concert in St. Louis through a June 10 performance in Syracuse, New York.
