© 2018 Lynn Goldsmith; Cleopatra BooksTodd Rundgren will launch what’s being billed as the first hybrid concert/book tour this April in support of his new autobiography, The Individualist: Digressions, Dreams & Dissertations, which will be published on December 21.

The trek will kick off with four European shows before Rundgren embarks on a North American leg that runs from an April 10-11 stand in Atlanta through a May 12-13 engagement in San Francisco. In addition, the tour will visit Japan for a pair of late-May concerts.

The North American outing also will feature back-to-back shows in eight other major cities: Washington, D.C.; New York; Boston; Chicago; Toronto; Philadelphia; Cleveland; and Los Angeles. At every stop of the tour, Todd will be lining up book signings and TV and radio appearances.

In The Individualist, Rundgren tells the story of his life and music career up to age 50 through a series of three-paragraph vignettes. Mirroring the book, the concerts will showcase selections from the prolific 70-year-old artist’s catalog that he released before he turned 50, and also will feature Rundgren sharing stories about the songs he’s performing and his life experiences.

Tickets for Rundgren’s The Individualist World Tour go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 10, at 10 a.m. local time. A fan pre-sale began today; visit Rundgren’s official Facebook page for more details. Citi card members also will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets starting Tuesday, December 4, at 10 a.m. local time through the company’s Private Pass program.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Rundgren recently was nominated induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. The inductees are expected to be announced sometime next week.
