Cleopatra RecordsDuring the past year, many of Todd Rundgren‘s concerts have featured a career-spanning selection of his songs including some of his greatest hits, fan favorites, obscurities and tunes from his old bands Nazz and Utopia. Now, the prolific singer/songwriter is set to release a new live album and video on Friday, August 26, that documents one such performance that took place last December at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

An Evening with Todd Rundgren — Live at Ridgefield will be available in multiple formats, including a DVD/CD set, a Blu-ray disc and a limited-edition vinyl LP. The CD features 18 tracks, including renditions of Rundgren’s hits “I Saw the Light,” “Bang the Drum All Day” and “Hello It’s Me,” the Nazz nugget “Open My Eyes” and Utopia gems like “One World” and “Love in Action.” The DVD and Blu-ray, meanwhile, boasts footage of 24 songs, including the 18 tunes featured on the CD, performances of The Miracles‘ “Ooh Baby Baby” and Marvin Gaye‘s “I Want You,” and more.

Rundgren was accompanied at the show by his longtime backing group, which features ex-Utopia bassist Kasim Sulton, founding Tubes drummer Prairie Prince, guitarist Jesse Gress and keyboardist John Ferenzik.

Check out a video of Todd performing his 1972 tune “Black Maria” from the An Evening with Todd Rundgren DVD/Blu-ray at Cleopatra Records’ official YouTube channel.

As previously reported, the 2016 edition of Rundgren’s summer fan camp will run from August 22 to August 26 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe Vermont. The 68-year-old rocker also has a few upcoming headlining shows on his itinerary, and he’s scheduled to head out on a series of fall tour dates with Ringo Starr‘s All Starr Band, with whom he’s been playing for several years.
